Why submit to a search engine?
Submitting to a search service is very important, for the
simple reason
that it attracts "qualified" visitors, i.e. visitors find you because
they have used a search service.
Do not forget that a visitor leaves your site after seconds, if they do
not find your site of interest
How long for the search engines to list my site?
Your listing to that particular search engine or directory
is up to
them. Some search engines are automatic and add your site instantly.
Some search engines send a "spider" to index your site within a few
weeks. Some sites can take 6 weeks or longer and some fail to list.
Another reason to resubmit your site regularly.
Which search engines and directories do you submit to?
We are always improving the list of search engines,
directories and other sites we submit to. We will always submit your site to the
most popular search engines, directories and other sites. Directories are
usually subdivided into categories, and we have to submit your URL under the
most appropriate heading.
What does ROBOT indexing mean?
Robot Indexing: Define the way the robots of search
engines should index
your website. Robots (also called spider or crawler) are automatic
programs that search through the Internet for new websites and enter
these into the database of a search engine.
What is a META tag?
A META tag is an item in your HTML code that aids some
search engines in
listing your site properly.
Why are META tags necessary?
META tags are necessary, because many search engines index
the pages of
websites by means of the keywords, descriptions and titles etc.
What is the difference between search engines and directories?
Search engines and Internet directories are not the same.
Internet directories don't use indexing software programs. If we submit your web
site to an Internet directory, your web site will be indexed by real people who
decide whether to include your web site or not.
NEVER USE;
We use only techniques that produce lasting results and that
don't offend search engines. Search engines consider the following search engine
optimization techniques as SPAM. For that reason, we DO NOT use them:
· automatically generated doorway pages· cloaking and false redirects
· keyword stuffing
· hidden text or hidden links
· pages loaded with irrelevant words
· duplicated content on multiple pages
· misspelling of well-known web sites
· unrelated and centralized link farms
· other methods that try to trick search engines
Some companies might get short
term results with these techniques but it's very likely that your site will be
banned from search engines if THEY do. You'll put your web business at
severe risk if they use one of these methods. |
